Join us monthly in the Oakley community for a cost-free opportunity to shop clothes, shoes, and toys.

We will happily accept donations for the Community Closet at the Oakley Recreation Center throughout the week, please contact Therapeutic Recreation Program staff at (828) 232-4529 to coordinate a donation drop-off.

Essential Eligibility Criteria for all programs:
Each participant must:
- Have the ability to follow program rules, communicate with others in a respectful manner, respect personal space of others
- Maintain personal care needs independently or with the assistance of a companion, excluding the program instructors (including administering medication, toileting, and feeding)
- Be able to understand basic communication
- Demonstrate basic social skills (interact with peers)
- Be able to work in a group setting of 12 to 15 people
- Not have a history of violence against themselves or others
The LRT/CTRS is unable to provide one-on-one supervision. Participants that do not fit meet essential eligibility criteria (EEC) may be able to participant in a program if they have their own CAP or one-on-one worker.
(CAP or One-on-One Workers are welcome at these programs at no additional charge). Please call 828-232-4529 about specific questions you may have.
