Senior Treks is a low-impact hiking club, offering leisurely-paced hikes for adults 50+. Bring lunch, water, good walking shoes and dress for the weather. Layers are recommended as weather can be unpredictable and change with elevation in WNC. Must be in good physical condition to participate; ability to walk 3+ miles on uneven terrain.
This moderate 2.4 mile loop, with a possible 1 mile extension, gives a nice tour of this wonderful state park and will take us to multiple waterfalls.

The Fox Den Loop Trail will give us a tour of one of Lake James' peninsulas and get us warmed up for the hiking season. This is a 2.25 moderate hike and is a nice place to get winter views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

Join us on a winter outing. Three Waterfalls Trail, Dupont State Rec. Forest: This moderate hike will take us on a 3 to 4 mile tour of Dupont State Forests’ most breathtaking, and therefore most popular, waterfalls in the region but during the least visited time of year. We won’t have to fight the crowd to see these towering spectacles.
Participants should bring lunch, water and wear good walking shoes and proper clothing for the activity.
Participants must register for each trip individually.
