Therapeutic Recreation Basketball
Enjoy learning the basics of basketball while making new friends! This 5 week non-competitive league is open to individuals ages 6+ with disabilities.
Location: Tempie Avery Montford Community Center (34 Pearson Drive)
Dates: 1/4/25-2/1/25
Time: 10:00am-12:00pm (groups will be separated by age range and skill level and will play together for 1 hour total)
Fees: $30 per participant, City residents receive a $5 discount!

Essential Eligibility Criteria for all programs:

Each participant must:
- Have the ability to follow program rules, communicate with others in a respectful manner, respect personal space of others
- Maintain personal care needs independently or with the assistance of a companion, excluding the program instructors (including administering medication, toileting, and feeding)
- Be able to understand basic communication
- Demonstrate basic social skills (interact with peers)
- Be able to work in a group setting of 12 to 15 people
- Not have a history of violence against themselves or others

The LRT/CTRS is unable to provide one-on-one supervision. Participants that do not fit meet essential eligibility criteria (EEC) may be able to participant in a program if they have their own CAP or one-on-one worker.
