Senior Treks - OR24020405

Senior Treks is a low-impact hiking club, offering leisurely-paced hikes for adults 50+. Bring lunch, water, good walking shoes and dress for the weather. Layers are recommended as weather can be unpredictable and change with elevation in WNC. Must be in good physical condition to participate; ability to walk 3+ miles on uneven terrain. Transportation is provided. Advance registration is required.

Meets at the Outdoor Recreation Facility at 9:30 am. Trips depart at 9:45am. Van Fee: $5/trip. Online registration closes three days prior to the hike date. To provide the best experience, this class may be canceled if it does not meet minimum registration numbers. Please call 828-767-1576 to inquire about late registration within 72 hours of a hike.

Enjoy a hike around the Carl Sandburg’s lake and up to Glassy Mountain. We'll visit the goat barn on the way back to the parking lot. This hike is uphill and has a gentle but extended uphill walk with benches along the way that offer a chance for a break.
